RICHMOND, Va. — William & Mary cross country standout
Hayes Trapp garnered CAA Male Runner of the Week honors for the third time this season, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The senior takes home the honor for third time in as many competitions (Sept. 8, 15) after leading the Tribe to its third straight runner-up finish at the Firetower Project Run on Friday.
The Aiken, S.C., native placed third overall in the 115-runner field stopping the clock in in 23:56.7 in the 8k race in Boone, N.C. Trapp finished just 1.3 seconds behind the individual champion George Couttie of Virginia Tech to pace five W&M runners that finished inside the top-15.
On the year, the Tribe's lead runner has finished inside the top-six in all three races, including a runner-up finish in the Spider Alumni Open on Sept. 5. Trapp earns CAA Runner of the Week recognition for the sixth time in his decorated career.
Trapp and the Tribe will be back in action on Oct. 16 when it competes at the Princeton Fall Classic in the Garden State.
