Julia Brown Named VaSID All-State

RICHMOND, VA. - For the second straight season, William & Mary volleyball's Julia Brown has been named VaSID First Team All-State. Brown becomes the first player since Sydney Biniak in 2017-18 to repeat as an All-State selection, and the first player in program history to be named to the first team twice.

Brown cemented her place as one of the best players in program history with a terrific 2021 fall season. The middle blocker was named first team All-CAA for the second straight season finishing with an impressive 3.12 kills per set. The Illinois native's .334 hitting percentage was the highest mark by any player in program history under the current scoring format, and Brown led the team in kills, kills per set, and blocks.

Julia finished her career with 366 total blocks, 72 solo blocks, 0.93 blocks per set, all ranking second among all Tribe players in the current scoring format. She also ranks second in William & Mary history with a .272 career hitting percentage, fourth with 934 kills, and 10th with 49 service aces.

VaSID names 44 all-state teams in 23 sports each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a university or conference in the state of Virginia.
