Volleyball Announces 2026 Schedule

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary volleyball released its 2026 schedule on Thursday afternoon. The slate features 25 games, including eight at Kaplan Arena, under first-year head coach Kellie Catanach Johnson.

The Tribe opens the season on Aug. 28 at the Virginia Tech Invitational in Blacksburg, Va. The tournament will pit W&M in a doubleheader against Coppin State and Virginia Tech on Friday, followed by a matchup against Coppin State on Saturday.

The following weekend, William & Mary heads to the capital city as it takes on Virginia (Sep. 4) and ETSU (Sep. 5) in the VCU Tournament hosted at the Siegel Center in Richmond, Va.

W&M has a lone midweek match slated for Tuesday, Sep. 8 on the road against Norfolk State.

The Tribe will round out the non-conference portion of the season with the App State Invitational in Boone, N.C. from Sep. 11-13. W&M will face off against the host Mountaineers (Sep. 11) before tangling with Western Carolina (Sep. 12) and North Florida (Sep. 13).

CAA play begins on Sep. 18-19 when the Tribe welcomes Stony Brook to Kaplan Arena for a pair of matches. This will also be W&M's home opener.

After a bye week, the Green & Gold will visit Towson (Oct. 2-3) before returning home to take on North Carolina A&T (Oct. 9-10).

Elsewhere in conference play, W&M has road trips at Elon (Oct. 16-17) and Charleston (Oct. 30-31) while playing host to defending regular season champion Hofstra (Oct. 22-23).

The final home matches of the season are scheduled for Nov. 6 and Nov. 8 against Hampton. The regular season concludes with a pair of contests at Northeastern on Nov. 14-15.

The CAA Championship is scheduled to take place from Nov. 19-21 at the John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center in Buies Creek, N.C.

SCHEDULE NOTES
  • The Tribe does not have a first-time opponent on the schedule for the first time in a full season since 2015.
  • W&M plays VCU for the first time since 2017. This will be the 83rd all-time matchup between the Tribe and Rams, second only to James Madison (100) among W&M opponents.
  • For the first time since 2017, the Green & Gold will play multiple Power Four opponents (Virginia and Virginia Tech).
  • The Tribe previously played in a tournament at Appalachian State in 2023, going 2-1.
  • The meeting with North Florida is the first between the two schools since 2009.
  • This will be W&M's first time hosting North Carolina A&T since 2023.
  • W&M has a 16-1 (.941) all-time record against Norfolk State, its highest winning percentage against any opponent (min. 10 matches).
