WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary volleyball completed its 2026 recruiting class with the additions of incoming freshman Ava Crabtree and graduate transfer Ally Bolden, head coach Kellie Catanach Johnson announced on Friday afternoon.

Bolden comes to the Tribe from UC Irvine. This past season, she appeared in 25 matches for the Anteaters with 22 starts, collecting 131 kills, 68 blocks, and 28 digs. She has one year of eligibility remaining.

"From the moment Ally stepped foot on campus it was clear she would be the perfect addition to Tribe Volleyball," Catanach Johnson said. "She is a veteran middle who will be hugely impactful for us on the court while also helping our young middles grow. Ally has great size and a high volleyball I.Q., but we are equally excited about her maturity, energy and leadership ability."

"I'm confident that she will be an integral part of not only our program, but the W&M community as a whole and cannot wait to have her in Williamsburg."

Crabtree was an all-conference and all-area selection at University High School. As a senior, she led the Pioneers to the 3A State Championship while leading the team in digs and aces. She is also a three-time academic all-conference honoree and played for the club team Illini Elite Volleyball.

"Ava is an exciting addition to our roster who brings exceptional ball control, a calm, steady style of play and a team-first mentality," Catanach Johnson said. "In all of our conversations it was clear that she has a desire to be great and is willing to put in the work to do that. She continues to get better every time she touches the floor, which makes me excited for her future in our program. Volleyball aside, I know that Ava will be a model for the type of student-athletes we want on campus and am thrilled to welcome her and her family to the Tribe family!"
