GREENSBORO, N.C. – William & Mary women's golf enjoyed a strong performance to close out the fall season, placing two players in the top 10 and finishing third as a team at the Grandover Fall Classic on Tuesday. The Tribe moved up one spot, jumping CAA rival Towson, on the final day to take third in the 12-team field.
 
Individually, senior Sarah Houle continued to highlight the Tribe's performance, placing third. It was Houle's third top-10 in four outings this fall. Freshman Isabel Bae notched her second top-10 showing, moving up five positions on the final day.
 
On Monday, Houle carded her second even-par round of the tournament, shooting a 72. The Tribe senior recorded a trio of birdies on the back nine as part of her round. In total, Houle recorded eight birdies over the three rounds, which ranked fifth in the field, and 34 pars, which was second. She also ranked fourth in the tournament in par 4 (+5) and par 5 (-2) scoring.  
 
Bae carded a 76 to earn a share of 10th place at 230 (+14). The Tribe rookie led the tournament in pars with 36 over her 54 holes. She also notched a top-10 performance earlier this fall at the Elon Invitational.
 
Freshman Emma Lu enjoyed her best round of the tournament, tallying a 77. She jumped 10 spots and earn a share of 18th place.
 
Juniors Mikah McDonnell and Cindy Zhou rounded out the Tribe lineup, finishing in 37th and 45th place, respectively.
 
Up Next
The Tribe opens the spring season on March 7-8 at the River Landing Classic. The event, hosted by UNCW, will be played at the River Landing Golf Course in Wallace, N.C.
