Julia Brown Named First Team All-CAA For Second Straight Season

RICHMOND, VA.- For the second consecutive season, William & Mary volleyball's Julia Brown has been named first team All-CAA as announced by the conference Wednesday morning. Brown becomes the first Tribe player to earn all-league honors in back to back seasons since Sydney Biniak in 2016-17. Kristen Schimke was the last William & Mary player to be named first team all-conference in 1992-93.

Brown produced a historic final season in the Green and Gold hitting for a .336 attacking percentage, the highest single-season mark for any player in the current scoring era. The middle blocker's 3.12 kills per set rank fifth under the current scoring format for a season-long pace.

The Geneva, Ill. native led the Tribe in kills (231), points per set (3.66), and total blocks (64.0). Brown had at least a double-digit kill total in 14 of the Tribe's 21 matches this season, and smashed a career-high tying 21 kills in two contests.

One of the most efficient hitters in the league, Brown had 11 matches in which she hit for an average above .300. The preseason all-league pick was twice named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week, the first time a Tribe player had earned the honor twice in a season under the current scoring system.

Brown rewrote the record books during her time in Williamsburg, leaving the program ranking second in school history with 366 total blocks and second with .920 blocks per set. On the attacking side of the net, Brown's 934 kills are the fourth most in school history, and her career hitting percentage of .283 is second among all players in the current scoring format and sixth in program history.

A star in the classroom, Brown graduated last May with a degree in Biology and is currently pursuing her MBA. She is a four-time Provost Award winner and was named a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award that recognizes athletes who make an impact on the court, in the classroom, and in the community.
