ROCKVILLE, Va. – William & Mary men's golf fired the best 18-hole round in the field on Sunday at the Howard Bison Invitational and sits one stroke off the lead through 36 holes at the Woodmont Country Club.
 
The Tribe fired a second-round 300 which was the best among the seven teams through the first 36 holes. W&M shot an opening-round 311 and is one stroke behind Bucknell (+35) in second place entering the final round.
 
Three players are among the top 10 individually after two rounds, including graduate student Ethan Mangum. He is fourth at 5-over par 149 and one shot off the lead. After a first-round 77, Mangum shot an even-par 72 in round two, which was the second-best round among all competitors on Sunday. Through two rounds, he leads the field in par 3 scoring at even par and is No. 2 in par 4 scoring at 1-over par.
 
Senior Matthew Feinstein and junior Jimmy Taylor are both in the top 10 as well through two rounds. Feinstein is seventh following an 8-over par 152 on Sunday. Taylor sits in a share of ninth at 154 (+10). Taylor leads all competitors at the tournament with six birdies, while Feinstein added four birdies.
 
Junior Trevor Binau and freshman Logan Hunter are both among the top 20 through two rounds. Binau leads the tournament in pars with 26 over the first 36 holes and is tied for 16th place at 156 (+12). Hunter is one stroke back in a share of 20th at 157 (+13).
 
Bucknell (+35) leads the event at 610 followed by the Tribe (+36 / 611) and Princeton (+36 / 612). The top three teams are separated by two strokes entering the final round and will be paired together on Monday.
 
The third and final round of the Howard Bison Invitational tees off at 8 a.m. on Monday.
