Meredith Beam
Why did you choose W&M?Â
I chose W&M because the school has a great academic reputation and I loved the historic campus. The soccer program has also been a very successful program throughout its history and the girls I met during my visit were very welcoming and made it seem like a family I really wanted to be a part of.
Â
First soccer memory?Â
I bought a uniform for my older brother's soccer team when I was four years old so that I could be the team's cheerleader. During one of their games they needed an extra player so the coach let me play even though I was two years younger. I played in every game after that.

What is your favorite Tribe soccer memory?Â
My sophomore year in our game against Bucknell, we were down by a goal with just a few minutes remaining. Sully Boulden and I both scored back to back to secure the win with barely any time left. My parents rarely go to away games, but my mom had made the last-minute decision to drive up so it was really exciting for her to be there and see me score the game-winner.Â

Why did you choose W&M?
W&M had everything I was looking for in a school: a beautiful campus, a location close to home, challenging academics, and a competitive soccer program. The first time I stepped on campus it felt like home and I knew I belonged here.Â
Â
What was your first soccer memory?
Funnily enough, my earliest soccer memory is from when I was 7 years old and I broke my arm by falling down at rec practice. I wore a bright pink cast for the entire summer and had to wrap it in bubble wrap to keep playing soccer.
