Women's Golf Freshman Cindy Zhou Named Second-Team All-State By VaSID

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary women's golf freshman Cindy Zhou was named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Second-Team All-State team on Tuesday morning.
 
Zhou burst onto the scene during her freshman season with the Green and Gold playing in all 17 rounds with the Green and Gold, while leading the team by averaging a 75.35 stroke per round score. Her stroke per round score ranked fourth all-time in school history, and the best among W&M freshman. Zhou posted a 394-129 (.753) record, while she shot a 69 (-3), the fourth-best round in school history in second round of the Kiawah Island Classic.
 
VaSID names 44 all-state teams in 23 sports each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a university or conference in the state of Virginia.
 
The Tribe women's golf team posted the best stroke per round score in school history at 303.76. W&M was coming off of a 16th place finish in the Kiawah Island Classic, which is one of the largest fields in women's golf.
