The Colonial Relays
This is the 54th running of the Colonial Relays, which were first held all the way back in 1963.  All of the throwing events are held at the Dan Stimson Throwing Events Area, next to Green & Gold Village, while the running and jumping events are held inside of Zable Stadium.

The Opponents
This year, there are 54 women's teams entered in the nation's largest regular-season scored meet.  They represent all three NCAA divisions, as well as the NAIA and the NJCAA.  In addition to the host Tribe, teams entered this year include Air Force, American, Binghamton, Bucknell, Central Connecticut, Charleston (W.Va.), Christopher Newport, Columbia, Delaware, Delaware State, Duquesne, Fordham, George Mason, Hampton, James Madison, Jefferson (Pa.), John Carroll, Lock Haven, Loyola (Md.), Lynchburg, Manhattan, Marist, Mary Washington, Milligan, Monmouth, Monroe College, Montreat, Mount Olive, Mount St. Mary's, New Hampshire, Norfolk State, Otterbein, Quinnipiac, Richmond, Rider, Saint Francis (Pa.), Shenandoah, Shippensburg, St. Francis (N.Y.), St. Joseph's, St. Peter's, Stonehill, Stony Brook, TCNJ, UMass Lowell, UNC Pembroke, UNC Greensboro, Vermont, Virginia Wesleyan, VMI, Wagner, Wilmington (Del.), and Wingate.

Team Championship Race
Delaware is the defending team champion at the Colonial Relays, winning its first-ever championship last year.  2017 champions Bucknell are also back looking to reclaim the title, while William & Mary is looking to win the championship for the first time since 2009.

W&M Notes
- Senior Brianna Miller (Midlothian, Va.) last week tied two program records.  She bettered 18 feet in the long jump for the ninth time, matching the total set by Bonnnie Meekins '07.  In the triple jump, Miller surpassed 38 feet for the fifth time, equaling the record set by Lisa Rayner '96.  Junior Alexis Brender a Brandis (Williamsburg, Va.) is right behind the two of them with four triple jumps over 38 feet, and also ranks third in the long jump with three efforts over 18 feet in her career.

- Between Miller and Brender a Brandis, they will be trying to deliver W&M its first-ever win in both the long jump and the triple jump.

- Redshirt-junior Grace Becker (Buckingham, Pa.) is the top seed in the high jump, and if she can defend that status will be the Tribe's first winner in the event since Beth Nealon '02 in her senior season.

- Redshirt-sophomore Victoria Gersch (Mercer Island, Wash.) broke the school record indoors at 400m this winter, and this weekend will be trying to become first-ever W&M winner in the 400m dash.

- Junior Charlotte Kowalk (Ijamsville, Md.) has run lifetime-bests in the 1,500m each of the past two weeks, but takes a step down into the 800m this week where she set the Tribe freshman record two years ago.  She'll be trying to become first W&M winner in the 800m since Sonja Friend-Uhl '93 back in 1993.

- In the discus, freshman Chelsea Wallace (Chesapeake, Va.) will be looking for W&M's first win since 2009.  If she can collect the victory, she'll be in good company with each of the last two school record-holders, Natalie Baird '12 who won in 2009, and Jeri Daniels '82, in 1979 and 1981.

- Also in the throws, junior Sam Moravsky (Sherman, Conn.) will look to improve on her third-place finish in the javelin a year ago, and claim the Colonial Relays title for the first time in school history.

- Saturday, the Tribe is entered in four relays.  In both the 4x100m and the 4x400m, W&M is entered in the feature heat looking for its first-ever win in either event.  The 4x400m especially has a strong case to make, with the entered squad being the same that broke the school record indoor this winter in Gersch, Susanna Maisto (Silver Spring, Md.), Gabby Runge (Midlothian, Va.), and Lindsay Schott (Portola Valley, Calif.).

- W&M has had previous wins in both of the distance relays, but will be aiming to reclaim glory in both the 4x1,500m and the DMR.  In the 15-lap race, the Tribe last won in 2016, but came close to repeating in 2017 with a third-place finish.  In the distance medley, W&M last won the race back in 2010, setting the meet and stadium records at 11:28.45.
