- W&M and Elon meet for the 24th through the 26th time at Plumeri Park this weekend. Elon leads the all-time series 14-9, but the Tribe leads the series 7-6 since the Phoenix joined the league in the 2015 season. Last season, Elon swept the Tribe in North Carolina. Seniors
Hunter Smith and
Colin Lipke led the Tribe in the series last year each going 3-for-11, with Smith bringing home a pair of RBI and Lipke driving in three.
- The Tribe had its first walk off the season in its 2-1 triumph of the season against George Washington Wednesday night at Plumeri. It was the first walk-off for the Tribe since March 18, 2018 against East Tennessee State. The Tribe now has 13 walk-off wins in
Brian Murphy's six-year tenure as head coach.
- W&M's 2-1 victory against George Washington was its 10th one-run game of the season. The Tribe is 6-4 in those contests this season, and the snapped a three-game losing streak in those ball games.
- Following his complete game against James Madison on April 12, junior
Wade Strain was named the CAA Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 15. The righty allowed one run on three hits with a career-high seven strikeouts. He also retired 16 Dukes in a row from the fourth to the ninth. The award gives W&M five weekly awards as
Matt McDermott has been named the CAA Rookie of the Week and freshmen
Zach Tsakounis (twice) and
Tristan Snyder have been named Rookie of the Week.
- W&M turned double plays in the third and eighth innings at George Washington (April 10) marking the eighth time this season the Tribe recorded multiple double plays in a game. For the season, the Tribe pitching staff and defense has turned 30 double plays, which ranks second in the CAA and 36th nationally.
- Senior
Bodie Sheehan has been one of the Tribe's all-time most consistent pitchers during his career. The senior has turned three of his best three starts the last three times out, getting into the seventh inning each time. He has recorded six quality starts in of his nine starts this season. The Virginia Beach, Va. native has now made 53 starts and will tie the school record with his 54th career start on Saturday afternoon. Sheehan also became the seventh W&M pitcher to surpass 300 career innings and the 13th to eclipse 200 career strikeouts.

Chris Farrell has been established as one of the top closers in the CAA. The right-handed pitcher ranks fifth in the league after locking down his fourth save on March 31. Farrell has 28 strikeouts in just 19.0 innings, holds a .217 opposing batting average, and a 1.89 ERA.
- On the offensive end, the Tribe is third in the CAA with 218 runs scored. The team has put at least eight runs on the scoreboard in 12 games, going 10-2. W&M ranks among the nation's best in doubles (75) and triples (16). The Green and Gold's 74 two-baggers rank 30th in the NCAA, while its 16 triples are 11th in the nation.

Hunter Smith has been the Tribe's best offensive threat. The catcher sits first in the conference in home runs with nine. Smith has already homered twice in a game on three occasions. The Caldwell, N.J., product stands 11th in W&M history with 25 career homers. With 199 career hits, Smith needs just one more to become the 10th Tribe player to join the 200-career hits club.
- Classmate
Zach Pearson enjoyed the best game of his career after finishing 4-for-5 with four RBI and a double at UNCW (3/30). Pearson established a new career-high in hits and tied his personal-best in RBI. The senior leads the team with a .328 batting average, which ranks him seventh in the league. Pearson also is tops on the team with 12 multi-hit games, including one in the series finale against George Washington.
- Plumeri Park, the home of the Tribe Baseball, turns 20 this spring. The anniversary will be celebrated and recognized over the course of the season. The facility was constructed in large part due to the generous donation by Mr. Joseph J. Plumeri II in the autumn of 1996. It is now considered one of the finest baseball facilities in the region, consistently receiving upgrades over the course of time. W&M has enjoyed a lot of success at Plumeri Park with a 391-204 (.657) since its completion.
