The William & Mary women's track & field team sent half the squad down to CNU on Sunday for the Vince Brown Invitational, its second meet of the weekend. The Tribe won a pair of events and had nine total top-five finishes on Super Bowl Sunday.
- In the shot put, freshman
Chelsea Wallace (Chesapeake, Va.) earned the win with a collegiate-best mark of 12.65m (41-6). That improved the rookie to 14th all-time among Tribe athletes. Sophomore
Leah Earnest (Riner, Va.) was sixth, with a put of 11.52m (37-9.5).
- In the 400m dash, junior
Gabby Runge (Midlothian, Va.) ran 59.78 to pick up the win, her first collegiate individual victory. Sophomore
Maddison Wester (Fredericksburg, Va.) was seventh overall in 1:02.66.
- That duo also ran the prelims of the 60m dash alongside junior
Priya Sidhu (Issaquah, Wash.). Sidhu ran 8.05 seconds for ninth and Runge 8.18 for 13th, while Wester was 27th at 8.52 seconds. Sidhu advanced to the semifinals, where she ran 8.04 to then advance to the finals. In the third round, the junior finished fifth overall, crossing the finish in 8.07 seconds.

Julia McDermott (Potomac, Md.) was third overall in the triple jump, hitting the sand at 10.78m (35-4.5).
- Another bronze medal went to the Tribe in the 800m, thanks to redshirt-junior
Rachel Snyder (Purcellville, Va.) who ran 2:26.11. Her classmate
Carina Garcia (Gainesville, Va.) was right behind her in 2:27.03 for fourth place, and grad transfer
Laura LaBuschaigne (Durbanville, Cape Town, South Africa) was fifth in 2:28.00. Redshirt-freshman
Olivia Rovin (St. Petersburg, Fla.) was 18th overall, crossing the line in 2:36.76.
- In the mile, redshirt-freshman
Julia Lambert (Virginia Beach, Va.) finished fourth overall in 5:22.07, just ahead of sophomore
Megan Kolbe (Doylestown, Pa.) who was fifth in a lifetime-best 5:22.41. Rovin, running in her second event of the day, was seventh overall in 5:29.25.
William & Mary is back in action next Friday, Feb. 8, competing at the Navy Select Meet in Annapolis, Md.
