RICHMOND, Va. — William & Mary track & field turned in a strong showing at the Fred Hardy Invitational on March 19–20 at Robbins Stadium, highlighted by multiple event wins and several top-10 marks in program history.
Amelia Bawcombe continued her record-breaking start to the outdoor season, winning the hammer throw with a mark of 57.27m (187-10). The freshman improved her own freshman record set last week (55.98m / 183-8) and remains third all-time in program history. She also added a victory in the discus with a throw of 42.90m (140-9).
In the pole vault, Kalli Knott claimed the event title with a clearance of 3.85m (12-7.5), moving into a tie for sixth all-time in program history. Kerrigan Kimener added a third-place finish at 3.50m (11-5.75).
Katriel Amoyaw won the high jump with a clearance of 1.70m (5-7), tying for seventh all-time in program history, while Jolie Brassell placed fifth at 1.55m (5-1).
On the track, Tia Taylor captured the 100m hurdles title in 14.30, moving to third all-time among performers in program history. Kennedy Reynolds added a win in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:03.32, while Allison McDonald took first in the 3000m steeplechase in 11:02.65.
On the men's side, Jonathan Kumer led a 1–2 finish in the 1500m with a time of 3:52.82, followed closely by Amberson Bauer in 3:53.89. Brady Echols added a second-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 15.50m (50-10.25), and Uriah Harris recorded a fourth-place finish in the hammer throw at 52.02m (170-8).
