WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary men's basketball team hosts the fifth annual Gold Rush Game on Saturday afternoon when it welcomes Delaware to Williamsburg. The game is slated for a 4 p.m. tip inside Kaplan Arena and will be televised on Cox YurView.
The first 500 fans and 500 students in attendance at the men's game will receive a free gold t-shirt courtesy of
Wren Traditions. Fans in the lower bowl will receive a pom-pom to help cheer on the Tribe. Halftime will feature the Diaper Derby courtesy of Yankee Candle.
The Gold Rush Game will be broadcast on Cox Communications in Virginia with Jay Colley and Charlie Woollum on the call. The game will be available throughout Hampton Roads on YurView Virginia, Cox's channel 1011, while additional outlets include Fairfax County (1074), Fredericksburg (1077) and Roanoke (1009). The game will be available in other Cox markets, checking your local listings for details. It will also be available online at Tribe Athletics TV and CAA.TV.

W&M News and Notes
- Saturday's game marks the Tribe's fifth annual Gold Rush Game, and the third against Delaware. W&M downed the Blue Hens, 90-64, during the 2016 event and 83-66 last season. In the previous four Gold Rush Games, the Tribe has averaged 85 points per contest, while shooting 52.4 percent and averaging 10.3 3-pointers in four wins. The Gold Rush Games have also been some of the best attended in the CAA, averaging 5,503 fans. In three of the four years, it has been the top attended CAA home game, including 6,028 in 2016.
- The Tribe rallied for a 10-point first-half deficit in its win over Drexel on Thursday. It was the 29th double-digit comeback under head coach
Tony Shaver. The Tribe has done it three times this season. W&M also erased a 20-point second-half deficit in an 87-85 win over Saint Joseph's on Nov. 24 and a 12-point first-half deficit in the CAA-opening win over James Madison.
- In CAA play, the Tribe's 3-point production has increased. After shooting just 31.7 percent from 3 and hitting 7.9 triples per game through the non-conference season, the Tribe's numbers have jumped to 36.4 percent and 9.2 3-pointers per contest in league action. W&M is also scoring 37.1 percent of its points in CAA play on 3-pointers compared to just 32 percent in the non-conference.
- Junior
Nathan Knight recorded a double-double in five of his last seven games and is averaging 21.8 points, 10.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists per contest during that stretch. He has led the Tribe in assists in six-straight contests. Knight is the only player in the CAA to rank among the top 10 in the league in scoring (third at 19.3), rebounding (fifth at 8.1) and assists (6th at 3.6). Earlier this season, he became the 40th player in school history to score 1,000 career points. His scoring average ranks 60th nationally.
- Freshman
Chase Audige has come on strong in CAA play, including a career-high 24 points at UNCW on Jan. 24. In league action, he has started all 10 games and leads all rookies in scoring at 12.9 per game. Audige is adding 5.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 42.9 percent from 3-point range in CAA play. His scoring average has increased to 10.2 points per game, which is 24th in the league and third among rookies.
- W&M, which has led the CAA five of the last six years, once again tops the league in assists at 16.8 per game in 2018-19. That number also ranks 23rd nationally. The Tribe is 11th in the country according to KenPom.com in assists percentage, recording an assist on 62.5 percent of its field goals.
- In CAA play, junior
Matt Milon leads the league at 3.4 3-pointers per game and is averaging 14.3 points per contest. He has scored in double figures in 11 of the Tribe's last 14 games, including eight of 10 CAA contests. Milon ranks 71st nationally in 3-pointers per game (2.9) and 97th in 3-point percentage (.380). Among active NCAA DI players, his 42.2 career 3-point percentage ranks 34th nationally.
- Twice this season, Audige was named the CAA Rookie of the Week (Nov. 26 and Dec. 31). Audige is one of four CAA players to earn the league's top rookie honor on multiple occasions and the first W&M player since Omar Prewitt in 2013-14. Fellow freshman
L.J. Owens earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors on Nov. 12. It marked the first time since 2004-05 that multiple Tribe players have earned the weekly award in the same season.
- Junior
Justin Pierce ranks among the national leaders in both double-doubles and rebounding. He is fifth in the CAA and 51st nationally in double-doubles (7). Pierce ranks 56th nationally at 8.6 rebounds per game and 27th in defensive rebounding (7.0).
- The Tribe dished out 20 or more assists on seven occasions this season and is 5-2 in those contests. Over the last nine seasons, the Green and Gold is 42-4 when dishing out 20 or more assists in a game.
- Knight moved into second on the Tribe's career blocked shots list. His 149 career blocks trails only David Cully's (1993-96) total of 248. Knight's career total ranks 26th among active NCAA DI players. He leads the CAA at 2.1 blocks per game this season, which is also 34th nationally. Knight is up to three blocks per game in CAA play.
- As a team, W&M leads the CAA in blocked shots at 4.7 per game, which also ranks 37th nationally. In CAA play, the Tribe is blocking 5.6 shots per game. W&M owns the top two single-game blocked shot totals this season in the CAA with 14 against William Peace and 10 on Thursday against Drexel.
- Knight ranks among the national leaders in a number of statistical categories. He is 23rd in total blocks (47), 24th in field goals made (155), 34th in field goals percentage (.574) and blocked shots per game (2.1), 35th in double-doubles (8), 37th in total points (425) and free throws made (106) and 60th in scoring (19.3). Prior to the start of the season, Knight was named one of 21 players nationally to the Watch List for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award presented by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Paul Rowley was named one of 30 candidates for the 2018-19 Senior CLASS Award®. The award recognized DI seniors with notable achievements in four categories (community, classroom, character and competition). W&M is one of three schools (out of 353 in DI) to have both a men's and women's player recognized as Bianca Boggs was also honored. Rowley, a second-year law student who graduated magna cum lade in just three years with a double major in finance and computer science, is the third Tribe player to be named a candidate, joining Quinn McDowell '12 and Omar Prewitt '17. The 10 finalists for the Senior CLASS Award will be named in February.
