Men's Tennis Flexes Muscle on Day 2 of the Tribe Invite

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary men's tennis enjoyed another strong day at the fall-ending Tribe Invitational, picking up wins in five of seven singles matches and three of four doubles tilts on Saturday afternoon.
 
Overall through the two days of the Tribe Invite, W&M has won 12 of 15 singles matches and five of eight doubles contests.
 
The Tribe quartet of junior Sebastian Quiros, sophomores Joseph Brailovsky and Daniel Pellerito and freshman George Davis each moved to 2-0 in singles competition at the Tribe Invitational. At the top spot, Brailovsky rallied for a three-set win over VCU's Lleyton Cronje. After dropping the opening set, 6-3, the Tribe sophomore answered with 7-6, 6-3 wins in the final two to pick up the win. He improved to 7-4 on the year.
 
Quiros knocked off the Rams' Rayane Stable in straight-sets, 6-3, 7-6. He moved to 6-5 on the year with a win over the All-Atlantic 10 First Team selection.
 
Pellerito moved his team-best singles ledger to 10-3 with his second win of the Tribe Invite. He edged Navy's Romesh Kahatapitiya in a pair of close sets, 7-5, 7-6.
 
Davis dropped just six games in a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Navy's Jake Fishkin. The rookie moved to 7-6 on the season.
 
Junior Finbar Talcott picked up his fifth win of the fall season on day two of the Invite. He topped VCU's Daniel Khin, 6-3, 6-3.
 
In doubles, the Tribe picked up a trio of wins, and the duo of junior Chen Ruo and sophomore Oren Vasser picked up its second win of the event. Ruo and Vasser downed Navy's Romesh Kahatapitiya and Peter Lohrbach, 8-2.
 
Quiros and Pellerito also picked up a win over the Navy tandem, downing Jake Fishkin and Finn Garner, 8-6. Brailovsky and Talcott rounded out the Tribe doubles wins with a 8-6 win over VCU's Cronje and Timo Zgragge.
 
W&M closes out the fall campaign and the Tribe Invitational on Sunday at 10 a.m. against Penn at the Millie West Tennis Facility.
