RICHMOND, Va. — William & Mary men's tennis picked up seven victories over the weekend at the River City Open, highlighted by a pair of singles wins from Connor Kruger and an unbeaten doubles showing from Kruger and Omar Rhazali.

Kruger posted a 2-1 singles record, opening the weekend with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over James Madison's Harrison Lee on Friday. The fifth-year added a 6-2, 6-1 win over JMU's Aurelien Schmitt on Saturday.

Austin Cohen also went 2-1 in singles action. The sophomore rallied past JMU's Ryan Morgan, 2-6, 6-4, 10-7, and defeated Richmond's Charlie Schlenker, 7-5, 6-4. His lone setback came in a tight three-set match against Hampton's Kohei Konishi, 3-6, 7-5, 11-9.

Rhazali added a singles victory on Saturday, topping JMU's Kaua Cressoni, 6-3, 6-4. The freshman finished the weekend with a 1-2 singles record.

Kruger and Rhazali were perfect in doubles play in their first weekend competing together. The duo opened with a 6-1 victory over JMU's Riccardo Ciulli and Damian Sancilio on Friday before defeating Cressoni and Schmitt, 6-3, on Saturday. 

With the two victories, Rhazali improved to a team-best 6-2 in doubles this fall, while Kruger moved to 3-2. Cohen leads the Tribe with four singles victories and a 4-2 record this fall.

William & Mary returns to action at the ITA Atlantic Region Championships, Oct. 8-12, in Blacksburg, Va.
