The William & Mary women's cross country team put a league-high four runners on the all-conference team Saturday at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships, en route to a third-place team finish. The Tribe scored 68 points in the nine-team event, ranking behind only Elon (41 points), who won its first-ever conference title, and Delaware (62) in the race. James Madison finished fourth overall with 127 points, while Towson was fifth (132) and Northeastern sixth at 142 points. The College of Charleston finished seventh with 162 points, and Hofstra (218) and UNCW (242) rounded out the team standings. Individually, Elon's Scolasticah Kemei won the 6K race in 20:23.7, nearly 20 seconds ahead of second place.
For the Tribe, freshman
Emma Rogers (Roanoke, Va.) continued her progression this season, and finished seventh overall to earn her first all-conference award and lead the way. Rogers crossed the finish in 20:58.4, in her first race as W&M's top runner. Right behind her in eighth place was redshirt-junior
Liv Paxton (Rock Hill, S.C.), also earning her first All-CAA award with her time of 21:10.3. Senior
Charlotte Kowalk (Ijamsville, Md.) was named All-CAA for the second year in a row, taking 10th in 21:12.7, and junior
Lauren Finikiotis (Gibsonia, Pa.) was 12th overall in 21:21.7 for her third all-conference honor. Grad student
Rachel Snyder (Purcellville, Va.) finished the scoring in 22:04.3 for 31st overall. Rounding out the top seven was redshirt-sophomore
Taylor D. Jones (Virginia Beach, Va.), 35th in 22:10.5, and senior
Deirdre Lewin (Rockville Centre, N.Y.), who crossed the line in 22:15.8 for 39th overall.
William & Mary will have next weekend off to prepare, before returning to action on Friday, Nov. 15, at the Southeast Region Championships in Charlottesville, Va. That race will provide the selection opportunity for the NCAA Championships on Nov. 23 in Terre Haute, Ind.
