The William & Mary swimming programs are back in action this weekend with the CAA Pod Meet, hosted this year by James Madison. The two-day, 19-event meet pits the Tribe against the Dukes (women only), UNCW, and Delaware on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 2-3, with sessions at 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, and the final session beginning on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Every session can be watched live on Facebook Live, with the link available on TribeAthletics.com.

Scouting the Tribe Men
W&M's men's team is 2-1 on the year, after defeating Towson last weekend on the road. Senior
Jack Doherty (Middletown, Conn.) earned his third dual-meet record in as many meets in the 100 fly, swimming 49.00 to rank second in the CAA so far this season. His classmates lead the way in the majority of events in the league so far this season, with
Colin Wright (Williamsburg, Va.) ranking first in the 50, 100, and 200 free;
Chris Balbo (Short Hills, N.J.) leading the way in the 500 and 1,000 free;
Colin Demers (Virginia Beach, Va.) top ranked in the 100 back; and
Ben Skopic (Marriottsville, Md.) is ranked first in the 200 IM. William & Mary also ranks first in all three relays it has swum so far the 200 free, 200 medley, and the 400 free.
Scouting the Tribe Women
On the women's side, W&M is looking for its first win of the year after starting 0-3 against three very strong teams in Johns Hopkins, East Carolina, and Towson. The Tribe has a number of bright spots to lead the way, including in the freestyle events. Sophomore
Missy Cundiff (Leesburg, Va.) is undefeated and the CAA's leader in the 50 free this season, while junior
Megan Bull (Hillsborough, N.J.) ranks first in the 500 free as well as second in both the 200 free and the 1,000 free. W&M also has the conference's best time this season in the 400 free relay.
Scouting the Dukes Women
James Madison is the two-time reigning CAA Champions on the women's side, and are 2-0 so far this season with wins against conference-foes Northeastern and Towson. Reigning CAA Swimmer of the Year Bonnie Zhang has the top marks in the conference in both the 100 free and the 200 free, while Julianna Jones leads the 1,000 free, Isabel Anbar is tops in the 200 back, and Megan Marsh leads the 200 IM. The Dukes also have the best time this season in the 200 free relay.
Scouting the Blue Hens Women
Delaware is 2-1 so far this season, beating George Mason and UMBC but falling to Johns Hopkins in their last meet. The top performer for the Blue Hens this season has been Marietta Gately, who ranks first in the CAA in the 400 IM.
Scouting the Blue Hens Men
Delaware is 0-3 in the early going on the men's side, with losses to George Mason, UMBC, and Johns Hopkins. Kevin Basch has the team lead in the conference race, ranking second in the 1,000 free.
Scouting the Seahawks Women
UNCW begins the year with an 0-3 mark, with losses to Tennesse, Old Dominion, and East Carolina. Evan Arsenault is their top swimmer and one of the top sprinters in the conference, ranking second in the 50 free.
Scouting the Seahawks Men
On the men's side, UNCW is 1-2 on the year with a win over Old Dominion and losses to East Carolina and Tennessee. The Seahawks are very strong this season in the strokes, with Brent Hoshall boasting the top time in the 200 back while Josh Rigsbee leads the conference in both the 100 breast and the 200 breast. UNCW also has the top time so far in the 400 medley relay.
Notes
- With the win over Towson, the W&M men have run their current winning streak against CAA teams to 14, the second-longest streak in school history. The longest conference winning streak is 15 meets, set in the Southern Conference between 1968 and 1975.
- Five Tribe swimmers earned Olympic Trials qualifying marks over the summer. Wright is qualified in the 50m free and the 100m free, while his classmate Doherty is qualified in both the 50m free and the 100m fly. Senior
Ian Thompson (Alexandria, Va.) is qualified in the 50m free, and Skopic is qualified in the 200m IM. On the women's side, Cundiff picked up her first qualifying mark in the 50m free.

Conor Sokolowsky (Williamsburg, Va.) was elected President of the Freshman Class in a school-wide election at the start of October.
- Three freshmen,
Annie Tuttle (Alexandria, Va.) in the 100 breast against Johns Hopkins,
Peyton Profitt (Richmond, Va.) in the 200 IM against East Carolina, and
Elizabeth Intihar (Columbus, Ohio) in the 500 free against Towson, have earned individual victories so far this season.

Colin Wright's five wins this season moves him past
Mike Lovett '00 into seventh in school history, now just 11 away from joining the top-five. Wright also moved up the career points ranking, surpassing the 1,000-point milestone to become just the seventh swimmer in school history to achieve that feat.

Chris Balbo also has five victories, becoming the seventh swimmer since 1990 to surpass 50 wins in his career. He now has 53 overall in his three-plus seasons.

Ben Skopic won his 30th career race against Johns Hopkins.
