TULSA, Okla. – William & Mary men's tennis junior
Finbar Talcott rallied for a three-set win in the opening round of the prequalifying draw of the 2019 Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships on Saturday.
After dropping the opening set to Middle Tennessee's Pavel Molt, 6-3, the Tribe junior rallied to win the final two, 6-4, 6-3, and advance. Molt was a Second Team All-Conference USA selection last season. Talcott is tied for the team lead with 3-1 singles record during the fall.
Talcott received a second-round bye after the prequalifying draw's top seed Constantin Frantzen of Baylor earned a spot in the qualifying draw due to players withdrawing. Talcott faces Pepperdine's Tim Zeitvogel at 9 a.m. ET on Sunday. The winner faces either UT-Chattanooga's Nikolas Gerdes or Tim Dollman of Auburn with on a 16 spots in the qualifying draw on the line.

Sebastian Quiros each dropped narrow straight-set matches in the opening round. Volk fell to Oklahoma's Mathieu Scaglia, 6-4, 6-4. After falling in narrow tiebreaking fashion, 7-6 (8), in the opening set, Quiros lost the second to Texas Tech's Franco Ribero, 6-4.
