JP Trojan (Chardon, Ohio) was named the Colonial Athletic Association's Men's Runner of the Week on Tuesday, after a strong performance over the weekend at the Panorama Farms Invitational. This is the second award of the season for Trojan, who was earlier named Runner of the Week on Sept. 3, and the sixth of his career.
Running on the Panorama Farms course in Charlottesville, Trojan led the Tribe and finished second overall with a lifetime-best 24:08.1 for 8K. That was almost 30 seconds faster than his time on the same course back in 2017, and is the fastest 8K time in the CAA this season by 15 seconds. With Trojan as the low stick, the W&M men finished eighth overall in the 16-team field, upsetting a more highly-ranked Florida team in the process, among several other state and regional opponents.
Trojan and his teammates are back in action on Friday, Oct. 18, racing at the Penn State National Open in State College, Pa.
