WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The William & Mary women's soccer team rallied from two-goals down, scoring three times in the second half to top Wake Forest in a scrimmage on Monday night in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Sophomore
Colleen Norton led the Tribe with a goal and an assist, while redshirt junior
Sarah Segan and freshman
Amanda Wigboldy added markers as well.
After surviving multiple early Wake Forest attacks the Demon Deacons jumped ahead with a goal in the 42nd minute. Bayley Feist tried to turn a shot on target, but a Tribe defender blocked it. The rebound, however, bounced to Ashley Frank, who was able to put the deflection into the back of the net from 10-yards out giving WF a 1-0 advantage.
The Demon Deacons doubled its advantage right out of the gates in the second half. In the 47th minute, Estelle Laurier placed a pass to Giovanna DeMarco, who was five-yards out and one-timed it home.
W&M cut the deficit in half 21 minutes later, after starting to pick up its attack. From a wide angle Norton fired a shot from 20-yards out that bent into the cage and pulled the Tribe within 2-1.
Four minutes later, W&M found the equalizer again with Norton playing a big part. The sophomore stole a back pass attended for the Wake Forest goalie, and set Segan free. Segan one-timed her shot into the back of the net from five-yards out to level the score at 2-2.
The Tribe went onto score the winner in the 86th minute. Off of a corner kick clearance, Wigboldy was able to control the ball. From 15-yards out the freshman placed her shot into an empty cage to lift the Tribe to a 3-2 lead.

Colleen Norton played a big part in the game with her goal and assist, and was nice to see a freshman (
Amanda Wigboldy) make an impact with the game-winning goal."
