The William & Mary women's track & field team will once again compete at home this weekend, welcoming three top-flight teams to Williamsburg for the Dan Stimson Memorial Quad Meet. The meet is the first scored team event (other than the Colonial Relays) that the Tribe has hosted since 1992, and will include squads from George Mason, Navy, and Buffalo in addition to W&M. All of the throws will take place at the Stimson Throwing Events Area, adjacent to the Green and Gold Village, while all jumping and running events are held inside of Zable Stadium. Action begins at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, and can be followed with live results online at TribeAthletics.com.
Back Home Twice More
This weekend is the second of four meets that W&M will host this spring, the most since 1999-00. After last weekend's Tribe Invitational and this weekend's Dan Stimson Memorial Quad Meet, the Green and Gold will host the 53rd Annual Berkeley Realty Property Management Colonial Relays, the largest scored collegiate meet in the nation outside of the NCAA Championships. The three-day meet will be held in two weeks, April 5-7. Finally, the home schedule will come to a close May 4-5, with the Colonial Athletic Association Championships.
Nation's Biggest Streamed on the Nation's Best
The Berkeley Realty Property Management Colonial Relays will be streamed live this year around the world, live on FloTrack. Fans with a subscription to FloTrack PRO will be able to watch every track event, as well as some bonus coverage of jumping events. For more information, please visit

Breaking Down the Meet
Saturday's meet will be scored in a double-dual format, meaning that each team will be measured against all other teams, and whomever turns in the overall top performance in any event will get credit for three wins. The match-ups for the weekend are as follows:
W&M vs. George Mason
W&M vs. Buffalo
W&M vs. Navy
George Mason vs. Buffalo
George Mason vs. Navy
Buffalo vs. Navy
In each individual event, the scoring will go 5-3-2-1, with no more than two athletes from each team scoring. In the relays, the scoring is 5-3, with each team only scoring their fastest team. The first team to score more than 96 points will have clinched the win in each match-up.
Scouting the Tribe
W&M began the spring season last weekend with the Tribe Invitational, and turned in several top performances. Senior All-American
Leia Mistowski (Narragansett, R.I.) was named the Colonial Athletic Association Athlete of the Week, after winning the hammer throw and breaking the stadium record at 60.22m (197-7). That was the third-longest throw of her career, and ranks her third among all U.S. hammer throwers early in the spring season. Also in the throws, sophomore
Sam Moravsky (Sherman, Conn.) made a huge lifetime-best to win the javelin, throwing a conference-leading 44.34m (145-6).
Opening up their spring seasons this week are grad students
Molly Applegate (Toms River, N.J.) and
Abigail Motley (Virginia Beach, Va.). Applegate had an outstanding indoor campaign this winter, culminating with a runner-up race in the ECAC mile, and is the top seed in both the 3,000m steeplechase and the open 3,000m. Motley, who transferred from Virginia Tech after taking third in the ACC 10,000m last May, is running for the first time in the Green and Gold and is entered in the 3,000m, where she has a lifetime-best of 9:38.76 from February of 2016. Also opening the outdoor campaign after training through last weekend is freshman
Lauren Finikiotis (Gibsonia, Pa.), the CAA Rookie of the Year in cross country last fall, as well as sophomore
Charlotte Kowalk (Ijamsville, Md.), who owns the rookie records in the 800m from last year. Both women are entered in the 1,500m run, while Finikiotis also is scheduled to run the 3,000m.
Other entries of note include senior
Kacey Wheeler (Fairfax, Va.), who is entered in her specialty of the 400m dash as well as the 4x400m relay, and redshirt-junior
Maggie Sullivan (Hagerstown, Md.), who takes a break from the 400m hurdles to concentrate this week on the 100m high hurdles and the relay. Redshirt-freshman sprint ace
Victoria Gersch (Mercer Island, Wash.) is entered in both the 100m and the 200m again, and in the high jump, seniors
Abby Jones (Woodbury, Conn.) and
Minna McFarland (Fredericksburg, Va.) are the top two entrants. W&M also has the top three entries in the triple jump, with
Julia McDermott (Potomac, Md.),
Brianna Miller (Midlothian, Va.), and
Alexis Brender a Brandis (Williamsburg, Va.) all doubling in both the long and triple. Miller (100m hurdles) and BABs (200m dash) are both actually tripling in the meet.
