PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The William & Mary men's tennis team continued play at the Penn Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Finbar Talcott picked up his first collegiate win, while senior Alec Miller and freshman Louis Newman teamed to post a doubles victory for the Green and Gold.
 
One day after dropping his first collegiate singles match in three sets, Talcott would not be denied on Saturday. The Green and Gold rookie dropped just three total games in downing Yale junior Dennis Wang, 6-2, 6-1. Wang spent his first two seasons with the Bulldogs as a fixture in the singles lineup, playing in 29 dual matches.
 
Miller and Newman posted a tiebreaker win in doubles over Yale's Andrew Heller and Stefan Doehler, 7-6. Miller improved to 2-0 in doubles at the Penn Invite after a win with senior Lars de Boer on Friday. The doubles victory was the first of Newman's Green and Gold career.
 
de Boer and freshman Michael Chen both dropped three-set affairs against Bulldog opponents. Chen won the opening set, 6-4, from Fedor Andrieko, before the Yale player claimed the final two, including the final one in a tiebreaker, 6-3, 7-6 (6). After dropping the first set to Doehler, 6-1, de Boer rallied to win the second, 6-3. The Bulldog player picked up the win thanks to a 6-4 final set win. 

The Green and Gold closes out the Penn Invitational on Sunday at 9 a.m., against its third-straight Ivy League foe in Princeton.
