W&M Women's Swimming Heads to JMU Duals Saturday and Sunday

The William & Mary women's swimming team heads to James Madison this weekend, to take part in the JMU Duals on Saturday and Sunday.  On the first day, the Tribe will face both the Dukes and the Pirates of East Carolina at 8:30 a.m., and then on Sunday, will face either UNCW or Delaware at either 8:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m.

The Duals Structure
This weekend's meet will be a dual-meet bracket, with the winners and losers of the first-day match-ups (W&M/ECU/JMU and UNCW/UD) meeting on the second day.  Sunday, the two winners will swim at 8:30 a.m., with the two losers to follow at 12:30 p.m.

Scouting the Tribe
W&M is 3-3 on the year and 0-1 in the Colonial Athletic Association after a narrow, 150-144 loss to Towson last weekend.  Senior Jaimie Miller (Houston, Texas) swept the 50 and the 100 free, and classmate Sophie Rittenhouse (London, England) broke her own dual-meet record in the 100 back at 56.67 seconds.  Sophomore Claire Williams (Apex, N.C.) swept the 100 and 200 breaststrokes, becoming the first Tribe swimmer since at least 1994 to achieve that feat against Towson.

Scouting the Dukes
James Madison, last season's CAA runners-up, enter the weekend at 3-0 (1-0 CAA) on the year, with wins over Liberty, Northeastern, and New Hampshire.  The Dukes are very strong throughout the freestyle events with Quinn MacMillan and Bonnie Zhang providing a 1-2 punch, as well as the breaststroke thanks to Katie Parker.

Scouting the Pirates
East Carolina begins the week at 2-1 overall, downing Catawba and Campbell in their last meet after falling to Navy in the opener.  Julie Lajoie is a record-setting swimmer in the 400 IM and 200 fly, while Logan Graumann is another proven winner in the distance events.

Scouting the Seahawks
UNCW is 2-0 on the year, and fresh off a win over Georgia Southern last weekend.  Four swimmers won twice each against the Eagles, including Meagan Johnson, Kyra Schemmel, Caroline Knowles, and Meghan Lahr.

Scouting the Blue Hens
Delaware is 1-2 overall with a win over St. Francis this season, and losses to Georgetown and George Mason.  Top names to follow including Samantha Marino in the backstrokes and Annie Nunes in the IM events.
