The William & Mary women's swimming team finished the CAA Pod Meet on Sunday with 11 more victories, and 1-2 in the team competitions. The Tribe beat UNCW, 237-110, while falling to James Madison 202-145 and against Delaware, 181.5-165.5. W&M's record now stands at 3-2 (2-2 CAA) on the year.
The Tribe's stroke events again came through with big wins on Sunday. Junior
Sophie Rittenhouse (London, England) swept the 200 back in 2:02.32, keeping her record in the event perfect this season. Senior
Jessie Ustjanauskas (West Hartford, Conn.) also kept a blank sheet in the butterfly in 2015-16, adding three wins in the 200 fly today with a time of 2:06.68.
Freshman
Claire Williams (Apex, N.C.) picked up two wins in the 200 breast, touching the wall in 2:23.28 to tie for third overall with a swimmer from Delaware and beat UNCW. Classmate
Morgan Smith (Verona, N.J.) won the 500 free against UNCW in 5:06.93, and junior
Jaimie Miller (Houston, Texas) was also victorious against the Seahawks in the 100 free, stopping the clock in 51.70 seconds. She would later come back to anchor the Tribe's 400 free relay to a UNCW win of its own, in 3:32.14. She was joined on the relay by
Jess Crowley (Acton, Mass.),
Emily Schroeder (West Windsor, N.J.), and
Selina Fuller (Henrico, Va.).
William & Mary is back on the road next weekend, traveling down to Durham, N.C., for a tri-meet at No. 22 Duke and Old Dominion on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 1 p.m.
