Scouting the TribeW&M is 8-12 on the year and 2-5 in the CAA, after sweeping Delaware 3-0 at home on Monday. The Tribe is currently sixth in the league standings at the turn of the loop, and on pace to make the conference tournament. As a team, the Green and Gold is ranked third in conference play with 1.15 aces per set, all the more impressive because no player is ranked among the league's top-10 individually.
Players who are in the top-10 in their categories include senior
Carolyn Albright (Raleigh, N.C.), who's ranked fifth in the CAA with a .314 attack percentage. She also leads the Tribe in blocks, with 0.88 per set. Freshman
Katie Kemp (Brentwood, Tenn.) is ninth in the conference with 5.47 assists per set as one half of W&M's setting rotation, and senior
Dessi Koleva (Torrance, Calif.) ranks among the league-leaders in three different categories. She is seventh in kills per set, with 3.27, and eighth in points, at 3.5 per set. She also ranks 10th in digs (3.42 per set), and for the fourth time in four years is the only player to rank top-10 in both kills and digs.
Scouting the PhoenixElon is 3-17 overall and winless in league play. Megan Gravley leads the team at 2.73 kills per set, while Ally Karle is a defensive menave at 1.20 blocks per set. In the backcourt, Maddie Jaudon has 3.94 digs per set.
The SeriesThe Tribe is 4-1 all-time against its newest conference rival, including a perfect 4-0 in Williamsburg. Last year, W&M won 3-1 at home, before Elon won 3-2 at their home gym.
