Tribe Lacrosse Announces 10-Player Recruiting Class

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (July 10, 2014) – William and Mary lacrosse head coach Hillary Fratzke has announced that 10 student-athletes will join the program for the 2014-15 academic year.

The talented incoming class includes seven midfielders, two midfielders/attackers and a midfielder/defender.

“We are so excited to bring in such a talented and well-rounded group to begin their collegiate careers with the 2014-2015 Tribe Lacrosse Team,” Fratzke said. “Not only are they talented student-athletes, but they are individuals with a tremendous work ethic and high moral standards. They will continue the tradition of excellence both on and off the field with the Tribe, and we look forward to their immediate impact on the practice field and during the season.”

Meaghan Brophy
Midfielder
Newtown, Conn. (Newtown High School)

Four-year letterwinner as a midfielder for head coach Maura Fletcher at Newtown High School … Earned first-team all-state honors as a sophomore and a junior … Garnered second-team all-state distinction as a senior … Three-time first-team all-conference selection … Two-time CT Post All-Area Team MVP … Also named to the CT Post All-Area Team twice … Chosen as the MVP of the SWC Championship as a junior … Helped lead NHS to three conference titles … Finished her career with more than 200 goals … Served as a student council and student government representative … Member of the National Honor Society and the World Language Honor Society …
