WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary lacrosse team posted its best offensive performance of the season as it earned a 19-16 victory against Campbell on Senior Day at Martin Family Stadium.
W&M (6-10, 2-6) led by just one goal midway through the fourth quarter, 16-15, but pulled away with a pivotal 3-0 run late in the contest – highlighted by two of
Kate Draddy's career-high six goals as well as a score by
Justyce Barber off an assist from
Paige Gilbert – en route to securing the season-ending victory.
After the Tribe built a four-goal advantage early in the third quarter, Campbell (3-12, 1-7) utilized a 6-1 run to take its first lead of the game, 11-10, following a goal by Sam Bischof with 1:49 left in the stanza.
However, W&M quickly responded by scoring five of the next six goals to claim a 15-12 lead with 12:16 remaining. Although the Camels narrowed the margin to one following a score by Hailey Kohlmann with 8:07 left, the Tribe pulled away with its decisive late spurt.
In addition to recording a career-high six goals and equaling a career best with seven points, Draddy also totaled five draw controls, three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Gilbert also registered a career-high seven points (4g, 3a) to go with a team-best eight draw controls and two ground balls.
Ainsley Huizenga posted her fourth hat trick this season with three goals, while
Finley Hoffman added three points (2g, 1a) and Barber scored twice.
Defensively,
Molly Delaney tallied a career-high and team-best four caused turnovers.
W&M outshot Campbell, 38-29, which included a 28-21 advantage in attempts on goal.
The Tribe also recorded more ground balls (29-20) and committed one fewer turnover (22-23), while CU owned a 19-18 edge in draw controls.
Bischoff led the Camels with seven points (5g, 2a) and nine draw controls, while Rasa Welsh added five points (4g, 1a) and six draw controls.
The contest marked the final game for W&M's 15-member senior class. Gilbert concluded her remarkable career ranked sixth on the program's career draw controls list (128) and 26th on the points list (119 – 90g, 29a), while her 60 draw controls this spring rank fourth on the Tribe's single-season list.
Huizenga finished her outstanding career ranked seventh all-time at W&M in career draw controls (128), while her 23 assists this spring rank tied for ninth on the program's single-season list.
Draddy will enter her senior season in 2026 ranked tied for fourth on W&M's draw controls list and needs just 44 more to break the school record (177) set by Sarah Cipolla (2020-23). Draddy finished the 2025 campaign with 55 draw controls, which ranks eighth on the Tribe's single-season list.
