WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William and Mary sophomore LHP
Jason Inghram was named the Colonial Athletic Association Co-Pitcher of the Week on Monday afternoon. The Chesapeake, Va., native earned the distinction after an impressive performance on the bump for the Green and Gold in Sunday's 1-0 victory at Northeastern. The accolade is the first of Inghram's career as he shares this week's award with UNCW junior LHP Mat Batts.
In Sunday's 1-0 win over the Huskies, which also preserved the series sweep, Inghram (3-2) tossed a complete-game shutout en route to his third victory of the season. In nine innings of work, he posted nine strikeouts while surrendering just four hits.
The Tribe's starting rotation of Inghram, senior RHP
Brett Koehler and senior RHP
John Farrell all posted complete-game shutouts over Northeastern as the trio allowed just 14 hits in 27 innings of work. In addition, the unit held the NU bats to an average of .159, while it lowered the team ERA to 3.41, which is tops in the CAA.
Tribe baseball will put its six-game winning streak on the line, tomorrow, Tuesday, March 26, when it travels to East Carolina for a contest slated to get underway at 3 p.m.
