WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Feb. 24, 2013) - The William and Mary baseball team completed a series sweep against Siena with a 13-2 victory in the second game of a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon at Plumeri Park. With the win, W&M improves to 4-3 on the season, while Siena falls to 1-5.

Sophomore LHP Jason Inghram (1-1) allowed just one earned run on five hits and one walk while striking out four in 6.0 innings en route to earning the victory, while senior LHP Matt Wainman and sophomore RHP J.T. Castner combined to surrender just one earned run in the final three innings. Siena starter RHP Jake Werdesheim (0-1) took the loss and was one of 10 pitchers used by the Saints.

A number of Tribe hitters posted impressive efforts at the plate, as senior shortstop Ryan Williams and senior right fielder Derek Lowe both went 3-for-4. Williams also drove in a pair of runs and scored twice, while Lowe totaled two runs batted in. Also coming up big were junior second baseman Ryan Lindemuth, who went 2-for-5 with three runs scored and a RBI, and sophomore third baseman Michael Katz, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored. In all, nine different W&M players scored at least once while seven players drove in at least one run.

The Tribe jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, as it batted around and knocked starter Werdesheim out of the game after facing just five hitters. Senior designated hitter Kevin Nutter and senior centerfielder Ryan Brown led off the inning with a single and a walk, respectively, before Lindemuth plated the game's first run with a single to left. Katz followed with a two-run double to right center and later scored on a double steal. Lowe drove in the final run of the opening frame with a single through the right side.

With LHP Kyano Cummings on the mound in relief, the Tribe increased its lead to 7-0 with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third. Williams led off the frame with a single to center, and senior first baseman Jackson Shaver plated him with a one-out double to right field. Following a single by Lowe to put runners on the corners, Nutter drove in Shaver with a sacrifice fly to deep right.

W&M added another run off RHP Dan Dopico in the fourth inning to increase the margin to 8-0, as Williams plated Lindemuth with a one-out single to center.

The Tribe tacked on five more runs in the fifth to build a 13-0 advantage. After Nutter drew a leadoff walk from RHP Chris Kearney, Brown followed with a RBI triple to deep left center. Moments later, Brown crossed the plate on a wild pitch for the second run of the inning. Williams and Lowe later drove in runs with infield singles off RHP Rick Morales, while freshman catcher Ryan Hissey scored the final run on another wild pitch.

First baseman Larry Balkwill drove in both of Siena's runs, as he recorded a two-out RBI double down the left field line in the sixth inning and a RBI single with the bases loaded in the eighth.

The Tribe will look to extend its three-game winning streak when it hosts Penn for a four-game series next weekend.
