In its new previewing
series, 'Touting the Tribe,' TribeAthletics.com gives fans a glance at William
and Mary student-athletes to keep an eye on during the upcoming 2012-13 season.
The Tribe athlete featured today today is senior
Jeremy Wells of the Green and Golf men's golf team.
Wells has been the Tribe's top golfer ever since the CAA Championships his freshman year, when he impressed everyone with a break-out ninth-place showing. The Richmond, Va., native followed that up with second-team all-conference honors and W&M's best scoring average each of the past two years. With a new-look conference in 2012-13 and the Tribe's new partnership with Callaway Golf, Wells enters his final campaign looking to bring home two conference championships and an NCAA berth home to Williamsburg.
While the championship portion of the golf season won't begin until February, Wells and his teammates will play at several tournaments in the fall including the Tribe's own Joe Agee Invitational this week. The Tribe will host 10 other teams at The Williamsburg Club for 54 holes on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 24-25.
