WILLIAMSBURG, Va.
(Feb. 1, 2012) - William and Mary head football coach Jimmye Laycock has
announced the Tribe's 2012 signing class, which includes 13 student-athletes
who have signed National Letters of Intent this afternoon.
"We entered the process looking to address depth across the
line of scrimmage and at the cornerback position," Tribe Head Coach
Jimmye Laycock said. "I am very pleased with
the hard work our coaches did identifying a group of potential impact
players. We attracted a diverse class
that will give us depth and flexibility in key areas."
The incoming class is comprised of players from five states
along the east coast from Georgia to New Jersey. In addition to four signees
from Virginia, the class also includes players from Maryland (3), Pennsylvania
(3), New Jersey (2) and Georgia (1). The group consists of three defensive
linemen, three defensive backs, two offensive linemen, a quarterback, running
back, wide receiver, linebacker/defensive end and linebacker/defensive back.

The Tribe's annual Green and Gold Spring Game is scheduled
for April 14 at Zable Stadium. W&M will open the 2012 season at Atlantic
Coast Conference foe Maryland on Sept. 1.
