IRVING, Texas – After excelling both on the field and in the classroom, seven William & Mary football standouts were selected to the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) 2026 Hampshire Honor Society.

The impressive group of W&M student-athletes honored includes linebacker Jaden Boring, tight end Trey McDonald, tight end Sean McElwain, kicker/punter Andrew Piercy, offensive lineman Hayden Raley, safety David Roulley and offensive lineman Joey Trainor.

The NFF Hampshire Honor Society recognizes standout college football players from all divisions who completed their final year of eligibility and will graduate this spring, or have already graduated and have remining eligibility, and maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college career.

Boring made a tremendous impact during his first year as a full-time starter during the 2025 campaign and totaled 47 tackles, 4.5 TFL, a sack, four PBUs and a fumble recovery. Honored as a CSC Academci All-District selection, the Lovettsville, Va., native has also earned recognition on the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll and W&M's Provost Award every year.

An All-CAA selection in 2024, McDonald was team captain and a three-year starter at tight end who contributed in numerous ways to the Tribe's success. In addition to helping W&M establish itself among the nation's top rushing attacks during the past few seasons, he also totaled 23 receptions for 264 yards with a pair of touchdowns. Honored as a 2025 Campbell Trophy Semifinalist, McDonald's excellence extended to the classroom where he was selected to the FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team and earned CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll distinction multiple times.

A two-time All-CAA standout, McElwain earned third-team honors this fall despite missing the final five games due to injury. The Glenn Allen, Va., native's career stats include 55 receptions for 907 yards and nine touchdowns. Additionally, he garnered CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll accolades every year and was named CSC Academic All-District in 2024.

A four-year starter as W&M's holder, Piercy also contributed as a punter and threw a touchdown pass on a fake field goal in the win at Towson in 2022. The Nokesville, Va., native earned CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll accolades every year of his career.

One of the CAA's best offensive linemen, Raley has started at right guard each of the last two seasons. In 2024 he helped W&M rank fourth nationally in rushing (232.8) and 24th in total offense (413.2), while last season the Tribe ranked fourth in the CAA in scoring (29.5) and No. 1 in the league in red zone scoring conversions (91.1 %). The Maidens, Va., native has earned a spot on the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll every year.

Roulley played a key role as a member of the Tribe's defensive unit last season and ranked fifth on the squad in tackles (46). He also finished the 2025 campaign with an interception, two PBU and a TFL. In addition to earning CSC Academic All-District honors, he has garnered CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll and W&M's Provost Award distinction multiple times.

Trainor, a graduate transfer from Merrimack, earned a pair of starts last season and appeared in all 12 games. He joined the Tribe after earning second-team All-NEC honors at Merrimack.
