WILLIAMSBURG, VA - William and Mary football standout wide receiver
Rich Musinski (West Pittston, PA) was honored as a first team selection by the Eastern College Athletic Conference in its postseason honors list, it was announced today.
Musinski, a junior, led the Atlantic 10 with 1,140 receiving yards on 58 catches. He had nine touchdown receptions on the season, and his average of 103.6 yards per game was ninth in the nation. Already honored by the league as an all-conference selection, Musinski was second in the league in all-purpose yardage.
In the Tribe's season finale against Richmond, Musinski caught a 47-yard pass from quarterback
Dave Corley, Jr. (Columbia, SC) that made him W&M's all-time leader in receiving yards, passing former Tribe great Dave Conklin.
Musinski had six games of 100-plus receiving yards on the year, and caught scoring passes in six games. He also helped Corley become the school's all-time leader in numerous passing categories, and the two are the most prolific quarterback/wide receiver combination in school history, in terms of touchdowns.
The only receiver in school history to have two 1,000-yard seasons in his career, Musinski's average of 19.7 yards per catch this year was nearly five yards more than his nearest competitor in the conference, among those players with 40 or more receptions. An All-ECAC pick last year as well, Musinski is the first wideout in school history to earn All-ECAC honors in consecutive seasons.
