RICHMOND, Va. — William & Mary freshman Kennedy Reynolds was named Co-CAA Women's Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Reynolds earned the honor following a historic performance at the Duke Twilight, where she broke the William & Mary school record in the women's 400m hurdles with a personal-best time of 59.26. The mark also established a new freshman record and made Reynolds the first athlete in program history to break the one-minute barrier in the event.
The honor marks the first CAA weekly award of Reynolds' career and caps a standout freshman outdoor campaign. The rookie has continued to climb William & Mary's all-time lists this spring, highlighted by her record-breaking performance in Durham that now stands as the top 400m hurdles mark in program history.
Reynolds shared the conference honor with Elon's Jenna Gilman.
