OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — William & Mary sophomore Jamie Laskofski was one of 50 players to be named a semifinalist for the prestigious Brooks Wallace Award, given annually to the nation's top shortstop by the College Baseball Foundation.

The award is based on offensive and defensive production. It is named for former Texas Tech shortstop Brooks Wallace, who played for the Red Raiders from 1977 to 1980. Wallace died of leukemia at the age of 27.

This season, Laskofski is pacing the Tribe in nearly every offensive category, posting a .345 batting average with 50 hits, 44 runs, eight homers, and 33 RBI. The Burke, Va. native leads the CAA in runs while his five triples ranks sixth nationally. He also ranks top-30 in Division I with 23 stolen bases.
