Charleston Takes Sunday Finale From Baseball

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary (16-22, 7-11 CAA) was shut out in the series finale against Charleston (19-20, 10-8) on Sunday at Plumeri Park, falling by a final score of 4-0.

Both teams recorded six hits in the contest. Charlie Iriotakis went 2-for-3 at the plate with a walk, while Matthew Kosuda also recorded a multi-hit game, going 2-for-4.

The Tribe put two runners on base in the fourth and fifth innings but was unable to sustain either rally. W&M was hurt by a pair of runners caught stealing and two errors on defense.

Noah Hertzler pitched two scoreless innings out of the pen while tallying a career-high five strikeouts. Jack Weight also went two innings without a run, striking out four.

Charleston was led by Dylan Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Cougars' reliever Kaden Myers earned the win with five scoreless innings. Jack Pye took the loss for W&M.
