Baseball Drops Saturday’s Game at Campbell

BUIES CREEK, N.C. — William & Mary dropped game two of the series at Campbell by a 6-1 final on Saturday afternoon at Jim Perry Stadium.

The lone run for the Tribe (5-8, 0-2 CAA) came in the fourth inning when Jamie Laskofski led off the inning with a triple. Connor Chavez drove him in with an RBI groundout to shortstop.

Laskofski had a three-hit day, going 3-for-4 with a run. He added singles in the first and eighth innings.

Campbell (6-7, 2-0) took the lead in the third when Jonah Oster hit a three-run homer. The Fighting Camels scored six runs on just two hits as the Tribe was hurt by nine walks issued by the pitching staff.

Freshman Stephen Christopher pitched two scoreless innings out of the bullpen, striking out one and retiring all five batters faced. Dylan McCarthy came on in the eighth and registered a scoreless appearance.

Campbell starter David Rossow was the winning pitcher while Mason Smith earned a five-inning save for the victors. W&M's Tom Bourque was credited with the loss.
