Christman Walks Off North Carolina A&T in Thriller, 11-10

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — In a wild game that saw five ties and seven lead changes, Trey Christman delivered the walk-off hit in the bottom of the ninth to lift William & Mary to an 11-10 victory over North Carolina A&T on Sunday afternoon at Plumeri Park.

The Tribe (10-12, 3-3 CAA) stole a program-record 12 bases in the win as it clinched a series sweep.

N.C. A&T (4-18, 2-7) went ahead 1-0 in the first inning on an RBI double. The Tribe got two back in the bottom of the third thanks to a throwing error that allowed Jamie Laskofski and Trey Christman to score. Both Laskofski and Christman stole a pair of bases to set up the scoring.

The Aggies would retake the lead in the fourth with two runs. However, a double play with the bases loaded helped reliever Jack Pye limit the damage.

W&M tied the game in the bottom of the inning on Jett Humphrey's sacrifice fly that plated Chase Ecker.

The Tribe would take its first lead with a three-spot in the fifth, highlighted by a two-run homer from Charlie Iriotakis. Witt Scafidi added an RBI single as the Green & Gold took a 6-3 lead.

N.C. A&T had a response, though, plating three in the top of the sixth to tie the game. The visitors went back ahead in the seventh on an RBI single by Reginald Tuggle.

W&M quickly rallied in the ensuing half-inning. The comeback started with a game-tying single by Humphreys' that drove in Iriotakis. After Humphreys swiped second, Kevin Francella delivered the go-ahead knock with a two-run single to score Ecker and Humphreys for a 9-7 Tribe lead.

In the eighth, the Aggies' Andrew Tinsley put his team ahead with a three-run homer that made it 10-9. Humphreys took the mound in the ninth and kept the deficit at one, recording two outs and stranding a runner at second base.

The ninth-inning heroics began when Francella homered with one out, tying the game at 10-10. In the ensuing at-bat, Laskofski doubled and then stole third.

On a 3-2 count, Christman sealed the win as he singled up the middle to send Laskofski home with the winning run.

Humphreys was the winning pitcher for the Tribe, while A&T's Aiden Hansen took the loss.
