TYSONS, Va. — Scoring four runs in the eighth inning to break open a tie, William & Mary baseball took down Georgetown 8-2 in come-from-behind fashion on Saturday afternoon at Capital One Park.

W&M (6-11) was shutout for the first five innings but rallied to score the last eight runs of the game after trailing 2-0. Jamie Laskofski drove in the Tribe's first run with an RBI single that plated Chase Ecker in the sixth.

In the seventh, Charlie Iriotakis tied the game at 2-2 with a solo home run to right field.

Stephen Christopher pitched effectively in his start for the Tribe, going 2 ⅓ innings with no runs and two strikeouts. Christopher got help from his bullpen, as Daniel Lingle entered with the bases loaded in the third and induced an inning-ending double play.

Georgetown (13-7) scored the game's first runs in the bottom of the fifth on a sacrifice fly, which was succeeded by a throwing error that put the Hoyas ahead 2-0.

Reliever Charlie Richwine settled in after that, retiring the Hoyas in order in the sixth. After W&M tied the game, Tom Bourque delivered a shutout frame in the seventh inning, setting the stage for the comeback.

Sam Kaczmarek and Ecker started the inning with back-to-back singles and later executed a double-steal with Kaczmarek touching home plate for a 3-2 lead. Later, Witt Scafidi blasted a double in the right-center field gap that scored two runs and extended the lead to 5-2.

Matthew Kosuda added an RBI single to cap off the rally.

Bourque sealed the win on the mound, holding Georgetown scoreless in the eighth and ninth innings. He was the pitcher of record, earning his first win of the season.

Kaczmarek added another insurance run in the ninth as he stole home for the second time. Ecker later came around to score on a sacrifice fly, giving the Tribe an 8-2 lead.
