WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary track and field continues its indoor season at the Penn State National Open this weekend. The action takes place at the Ashenfelter Indoor Track on Friday and Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
The rookies led the way for W&M at the Hokie Invitational as four freshman records were broken. Finn Middleton (60m hurdles), Leighton McGee (pole vault), Andrew Ernest (200m), and Uriah Harris (shot put) set all-time freshman marks, with Middleton's performance in the 60m hurdles breaking a school record at 8.10.
Elizabeth Strobach had an impressive showing in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 4.07m (13' 4.25") for a new personal record. That performance moved her up to second all-time and earned her CAA Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors.
NEWS AND NOTES
- Strobach leads the CAA in the pole vault and ranks 11th in the NCAA Division I Southeast Region.
- Strobach is one of three Tribe women in the top-four of the CAA in the pole vault, along with Kalli Knott (3.85m/12' 7.5") and Raina Fitzwater (3.79m/12' 5.25").
- On the men's side, McGee also has the conference's top pole vault at 4.90m (16' 0.75").
- Charlie Bestic currently leads all of Division I in the 500m with an adjusted time of 1:02.40.
- The Tribe holds both of the top 5000m times in the conference, with Hayes Trapp leading the men at 13:59.90 and Perry Irons atop the women's leaderboard at 16:05.27.
- In the heptathlon, Brian Walsh leads the league with his school-record 5208-point performance recorded at the Liberty Kickoff in December.
- After breaking his own freshman record at Virginia Tech, Harris ranks first in the CAA in the shot put with a top throw of 17.80m (58' 4.75").
- Freshman Celia Dawson currently ranks second in the CAA with her mile time of 4:52.73 set at the Dick Taylor Carolina Challenge. It's the top mark among all CAA rookies.
