Men's Basketball Travels to Elon on Thursday Night

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Riding a three-game win streak, William & Mary men's basketball hits the road for a Thursday night match-up at Elon. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at the Schar Center, and the game will be streamed on FloCollege.

W&M fans can listen into the radio broadcast on the Tribe Sports Network with Jay Colley on the call. The broadcast will be available on The Tide 92.3 FM in Williamsburg, the flagship station of the Tribe Sports Network.

W&M News and Notes
 
- The Tribe has won six of the last eight meetings with Elon, including a 79-70 win in the Schar Center last season on Feb. 22. Since Elon joined the CAA in 2014-15, W&M is 17-9 against the Phoenix.
 
- W&M has jumped 100 spots from the preseason KenPom ratings, as of Jan. 29, to No. 131. The improvement is the 12th biggest in the country, and the Tribe earned its highest rating since 2016. W&M is also currently No. 102 in the NCAA NET Rankings, as of Jan. 29, which is the best in the CAA. The Tribe was as high as No. 50, which is its highest standing since the tool was introduced in 2018-19.
 
- W&M drilled 18 3-pointers in its win over Hofstra on Saturday. The total was not only a sea-son high, but the third-highest mark in school history. In fact, it was the Tribe's most in a CAA game, topping the previous mark of 17 vs. Drexel in 2017. W&M also connected on 10 3-pointers in the second half, which marked the first time W&M hit double-digit triples in a half since the win at Hofstra last January. Over the last three games, the Tribe is shooting 39.1% (36-of-92) from 3 and hitting 12 triples per game.
 
- Junior Kilian Brockhoff turned in a career game with Tribe season-high 28 points in the win over Hofstra. He knocked down eight 3-pointers against the Pride, which ranks third on the W&M's single-game list. Over the last three games, Brockhoff is averaging 19.3 points per game and shooting 58.3% from the field.
 
- W&M's 57.9% shooting in its victory over N.C. A&T was its best in CAA play since 2023. The Tribe has shot 50% or better on seven occasions this season. In the second half vs. the Aggies, the Green and Gold shot 66.7%, marking the seventh time W&M connected at 60+% clip in a half this season. Nationally, the Tribe ranks 63rd in field goal % (48.0) and 43rd in 2-point % (57.7).
 
- W&M dished out a season-high 28 assists in its win over N.C. A&T, which ranks fifth in school history. The Tribe is averaging 19.1 assists per game this season, which leads the CAA and ranks eighth in the country. W&M is also fifth nationally in assist rate, assisting on 66.5% of its field goals. A season ago, W&M was 10th in assist rate (62%) and 25th at 16.5 as-sists per game. Brian Earl-coached teams have ranked in the top 33 nationally in assist rate each of the last five years.
 
- The Tribe recorded a season-high 15 steals at Drexel on Jan. 10. The 15 steals rank eighth in school history and was the program's most vs. a DI opponent since 1998 when it had 16 at The Citadel. On the year, the Tribe leads the CAA in and ranks 42nd nationally in steals (8.9), which would rank second in W&M history.
 
- W&M ranks 30th nationally in turnover rate, forcing an opponent turnover on 20.4% of pos-sessions, which leads the CAA. The Tribe also leads the league in turnover rate in CAA play (19.8%). The Green and Gold forces 15.4 turnovers per game, which is 18th nationally, and converts those into 18.2 points per game.
 
- With its pace, W&M ranks 15th nationally in fastbreak points per game at 16.7. The Tribe is 10-2 over the last two seasons under head coach Brian Earl when scoring 20 or more fast break points in a game. In three of the last four seasons, Earl-coached team have ranked among the top 20 nationally in fast break points. W&M was 16th (14.4) last season in the category, while Cornell ranked second in 2022-23 (15.9).
 
- The Tribe possesses a balanced attack offensively with eight players averaging at least 6.5 points per game, including four in double figures. In total, 12 of the Tribe's 13 players that have seen action in 2025-26 have scored in double figures at least once and nine different players have led the team.
 
- W&M is once again among the fastest-paced teams in the country. According to KenPom.com (as of Jan. 28), the Tribe leads the country in fastest average length of possession on offense (13.5 seconds) and ranks fourth in adjusted tempo (74.5). Last season, the Tribe ranked third in fastest average length of possession (14.9) and 18th in adjusted tempo (71.5). In each of the last five seasons, Brian Earl-coached teams have ranked top 5 nationally in average possession length and top 25 in adjusted tempo.
 
- Bench scoring has been a staple for head coach Brian Earl's teams. This season, the Tribe is averaging 31.9 points per game from its reserves, which leads the CAA and ranks 28th in the country, as of Jan. 29. W&M's leading scorer has come off the bench in seven of its 14 wins this season. Last year, the Tribe ranked eighth nationally in bench scoring (31.9) after Earl's final Cornell team led the country in 2023-24 (36.0).
 
- 2025 W&M alums Gabe Dorsey (Slovakia), Caleb Dorsey (Slovakia), and Matteus Case (Portugal) signed professional contracts in Europe. In total, 10 former Tribe standouts are playing professionally overseas, including Miguel Ayesa (Spain), David Cohn (Germany), Nathan Knight (South Korea), Anders Nelson (Latvia), Terry Tarpey (France), Marcus Thornton (Romania), and Andy Van Vliet (Germany). Daniel Dixon '17, who won an NBA title as an assistant with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2025, was named the head coach of the Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder's NBA G-League affiliate, in August. Alums Chris Darnell '09 (Sacramento Kings) and Sean Sheldon (Utah Jazz) are also currently NBA assistant coaches.
