LYNCHBURG, Va. - William & Mary men's tennis continued the fall campaign, competing for the second-straight week this time at the Liberty Dual.
 
In his first collegiate action, freshman Dylan Chou posted a 2-1 singles mark. He notched his first collegiate victory, downing Elon's Nicholas Fisk in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, on Friday. Chou closed out the event with a three-set victory, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3, over Charlotte's Danny Yassine on Sunday.
 
Freshman Austin Cohen and sophomore Theo Nilsson each tallied their first career singles wins as well at the event. On Friday, Nilsson rallied for a come-from-behind three-set win over North Carolina Central's Leo Fortier-Gariepy, 3-6, 6-3, 10-2. Cohen also need three-sets and also rallied for a win on Sunday, downing Charlotte's Brett Gloria, 2-6, 6-2, 6-1.
 
On Saturday, senior Albert Hansen picked up his team-leading fifth singles win of the fall. He topped Liberty's Guy Vorwerk in three sets, all tiebreakers, 7-6 (6), 6-7 (5), 7-6 (5). 
 
In doubles, a pair of Tribe teams posted 2-1 records over the three-day event. Junior Oliver Hague and sophomore Gur Trakhtenberg won their first two matches, downing Virginia's Stiles Brockett and Douglas Yaffa, 6-4, before upending the Liberty pair of Ben Sparks and Siwanat Auytayakul, 7-5.
 
Hansen and junior Nikita Bortnichek also notched a 2-1 mark. They downed Liberty's David Ekpenyongand and Guy Vorwerk, 7-5, on Friday. On Sunday, the Tribe tandem notched a tiebreaker win, 7-6 (4), over Charlotte's Brett Gloria and Danny Yassine.
 
The rookie duo of Chou and Cohen made it two doubles wins for the Tribe against Charlotte. The tandem topped Moritz Muenster and Jack DiMenna, 6-4, on Sunday for their first career doubles win.
 
The Tribe returns to action when it travels to the River City Open hosted by the University of Richmond, Oct. 3-5.
