WILLIAMSBURG, Va.—The William & Mary women's golf team continues its fall campaign with a trip to the Elon Invitational in Burlington, N.C.
The 54-hole event will be played on Monday and Tuesday at Alamance Country Club.
TRIBE NOTES
Last Time Out
The Tribe began its season by hosting the Tribe Invitational last week at the Kingsmill River Course. W&M finished third out of five teams with scores of 313-309-317 and were led
Samantha Skinner and
Lilly Reed Black tying for ninth at 19-over.
A Look Back
William & Mary posted a team scoring average of 316.75 in 2024-25 with a fifth-place finish at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate in the spring. The Tribe was led by freshman
Jennifer Osborne in scoring with a 78.17 average.
The Schedule
Following the trip to Elon, the Green and Gold will wrap its fall slate with two trips to North Carolina, playing in events hosted by ECU (Oct. 6-7) and UNC Asheville (Oct. 27-28).
Past Success
The Tribe had a solid start last year at Alamance Country Club, shooting 302 in the opening round, W&M's best team score of the 2024-25 season. Last year's event was limited to just 36 holes because of rain. This is the Tribe's fifth straight appearance in the event.
The Course
Alamance Country Club was designed by the great Donald Ross and went under a restoration in 1999 to return to Mr. Ross' original course plans. The Burlington, N.C. track plays to a par of 71 and features three par-5s and four par-3s. From the back tees the course owns a 73.2 rating and 130 slope.
