WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — The William & Mary baseball team will play host to Charleston in another critical three-game CAA series this weekend at Plumeri Park. First pitch times are scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m. All games will be streamed live on FloSports.
LAST TIME OUT
William & Mary fell to VMI 12-9 in walk-off fashion on Wednesday in the inaugural Peninsula Classic in Hampton, Va. The Tribe raced out to a 9-1 lead before VMI scored 11 unanswered runs to win. Catcher
Jerry Barnes III went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI in his return to the lineup.
TURNING 30

Ben Parker continued his historic hitting streak, which now stands at 30 games, after going 3-for-4 with a double against VMI. He is two games away from tying Ben Guez' mark of 32 games set in 2008, which stands as the modern-era program record (since 2003).
This year, Parker ranks fourth in the nation in hits (78) and fifth in doubles (21) while leading the conference with a .415 average, 58 runs, and 129 total bases.
DOUBLE TROUBLE
William & Mary had a pair of freshmen earn CAA recognition this week. RHP
Zach Boyd was named the CAA Pitcher of the Week after tossing a complete-game shutout on Saturday, going seven inning with three hits, no walks, and five strikeouts. It was the first complete game by a W&M pitcher since 2019, and the first shutout since J.T. Castner did so on March 27, 2013 against Norfolk State. For the week, Boyd went eight scoreless innings with a 6-0 strikeout-to-walk ratio and a .111 BAA.

Jamie Laskofski also earned his second straight CAA Rookie of the Week honor after hitting .533 (8-for-15) with six runs, eight RBI, and a home run. The Burke, Va. native hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the sixth inning of Sunday's come-from-behind win over Stony Brook as he collected a career-high four RBI. Laskofski is riding an eight-game hitting streak over which he is batting .500 (17-for-34).
It was his third Rookie of the Week honor this season, the most in the conference. Laskofski paces all CAA freshmen in average (.355), runs (47), and stolen bases (10).
HITS GALORE
The Tribe has posted nine straight games with 10+ hits. As a team, W&M is batting at a .322 clip, which ranks seventh in the nation and by far the best in the CAA.
LEFTY POP

Lucas Carmichael has continued his unprecedented power surge with home runs in all three games in the Stony Brook series. Carmichael has 11 round-trippers in his last 22 games dating back to March 22. The Chester, Va. product ranks third in the CAA in batting (.386), second in hits (73), third in total bases (117), and sixth in slugging (.619). His eight home runs in CAA play is second-most, trailing Stony Brook's Nico Azpilcueta (nine).
IRON MAN

Daniel Lingle is now tied for the nation's lead with 25 appearances. Lingle has worked three consecutive scoreless outings, lowering his ERA to 5.72 which is second-best on the squad. Since March 28, the sophomore has a 2.08 ERA over 17.1 innings with a .224 BAA.
CARDIAC TRIBE
W&M has 14 come-from-behind wins this year out of their 18 total victories. The Tribe has won five games in which they trailed by at least four runs, in addition to three walk-off wins.
STAT NUGGETS
- W&M paces the CAA in batting average (.322), on-base percentage (.405), runs (343), and triples (13).
- Between Parker and Carmichael, the Tribe is the only team in the nation with two players that rank top-15 in Division I in hits.
- In addition to his hitting streak, Parker has gotten on base in 31 straight games, while Carmichael has reached base safely in 30 straight.
- Carmichael also has a five-game multi-hit streak.
- OF Christian Rush has a seven-game hitting streak.
- UTL Derek Holmes has recorded a hit and a run in each of his last six contests, racking up 13 base knocks over that span.
- C Charlie Felmlee posted a career-high three hits on Sunday, going 3-for-4.
- W&M has one error in its last three games. Since April 18, the Tribe has a team fielding percentage of .976.
- The Tribe's five-game conference win streak is its longest since May 1-21, 2022, when they won seven straight in CAA play.
SERIES HISTORY
Charleston leads the all-time series 29-12 and has won four straight. The last Tribe victory was in 2023, a 12-3 win.
