CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, N.J.—The William & Mary men's golf team finds itself in sixth place following the first two rounds of the 2025 CAA Men's Golf Championships. The 54-hole conference title is being contested at Union League National GC in Cape May Court House, N.J.
Campbell holds a one-shot lead over Drexel after the Dragons posted 5-under on Monday to get back in the thick of things. Individually Henric Bjelke of Campbell sits at 9-under to be in control of a seven-shot advantage.
The Tribe followed its 304 effort in the opening round with a score of 299 on Monday. Its 27-over total leaves W&M 19 shots off the pace heading into Tuesday's final round.
Camden Goldknopf was the biggest mover in the entire field on day two, jumping 26 spots up the leaderboard to a tie for 18
th after a 2-under-par 70. The Tribe freshman improved by 11 shots after an opening round 81 thanks to a strong back nine.
Goldknopf turned in 1-over 37 with a pair of birdies before getting hot on the back. After adding birdies on 13 and 15, Goldknopf gave a shot back at the long par-3 16
th. The Floridian ended his round with a bang however, making an eagle-3 on the 530-yard 18
th to shoot 3-under 33 on the final nine. His total of 151 puts him at 9-over.
Preston Burton used a birdie on the 18
th to post in red figures on the back nine as well on Monday. Burton made four birdies on the day to post a split of 41-35, shooting a 76 in round two. The sophomore shot 73 in the opening round and finds himself tied for 12
th with a total of 149.
Logan Hunter also finds himself T-12 with a 5-over 149 total after shooting 77 on Monday. The senior turned in 38 before shooting 39 on the back. Hunter posted an even-par 72 in the opening round.
Four birdies paced
Luke Walmet to a 76 in the second round, who finds himself T-35 after two rounds with a 158 total.
Max Johnson rounded out the W&M lineup on Monday, with a 77 and is T-26 with a 155 total.
The final round of play will be Tuesday morning with the Tribe paired with fourth-place Charleston and fifth-place Delaware.
