SOUTHPORT, N.C.—The William & Mary women's golf team completed its season at the CAA Championships on Sunday afternoon at the St. James Plantation's Reserve Club.
The Tribe earned a sixth-place finish getting better by two shots every day. W&M posted scores of 320-318-316 for a 90-over 54-hole total.
Charleston was crowned the team champion at 15-over, while UNCW's Hannah Altman posted an ever-par total for individual honors.
W&M ended up with a pair of top-25 finishes with
Avery Thompson finishing in 23
rd and
Samantha Skinner at T-25.
Skinner was the Tribe's top scorer in Sunday's final round with a score of 5-over 77. Her lone birdie of the day came at the par-5 17
th as she played the back nine in 38. The sophomore played the back of the Reserve Club at 4-over total for the weekend. She posted scores of 77-80-77 for the event.
Thompson was posted a 79 on Sunday after shooting 75, the lowest score for W&M in the tournament, on Saturday. She posted splits of 40-39 on the day for her 16-over total for the event. Thompson fired a 78 in Friday's opening round.
Jennifer Osborne and
Katie Suk each shot 80 for the Tribe in the final round on Sunday. Osborne finished the event with scores of 82-83-80 for a T-33 finish, while Suk shot 83-84-80 for a solo-36
th finish.
The W&M lineup was rounded out by
Faith Garcia on Sunday who fired an 83. Garcia shot scores of 83-80 over the first two rounds to finish in 35
th.
