3/31/2025 3:00:00 PM

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — The William & Mary baseball team will return to midweek action as they host in-state rival VCU on Tuesday evening at Plumeri Park. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Tribe is fresh off a series sweep of Hofstra, winning all three games by one run. INF Anthony Greco was the hero in games one and two, delivering a go-ahead RBI single in the eighth inning of both victories. On Sunday, freshman INF Jamie Laskofski provided the walk-off theatrics as he hit a two-run single in the bottom of the ninth to give W&M a 16-15 win. It was the first win for W&M when trailing after eight innings since April 29, 2023 against Delaware.

WALK-OFF WINNER
Laskofski's walk-off single was the second game-winning hit by the Tribe this season (the previous was Lucas Carmichael's on Feb. 22 against Marist). It was part of a 4-for-6 day for the freshman phenom, who added two runs, two RBI, and a stolen base. The four hits tied a career-high.

For his efforts, Laskofski was named the CAA Co-Rookie of the Week.

ROLLER COASTER OF A WIN
Sunday's win over Hofstra featured all kinds of action. There were 31 combined runs, 30 combined hits, and three lead changes. The Tribe scored five runs in an inning twice while Hofstra put up an eight-spot in the eighth inning. OF Ben Parker went 3-for-6 with two runs and three RBI. Five Tribe players drove in multiple runs in a contest that lasted four hours and 13 minutes.

HEAT CHECK
With hits in all three games over the weekend, Parker and Carmichael extended their dual hitting streaks to 13 games. For Parker, that ties a career long streak, while Carmichael has already set his personal best. Parker is slashing .484/.515/.758 over the streak. Carmichael has posted a .436/.500/.745 slash line.

A SLUGGER IS BORN
Speaking of Carmichael, the senior has now hit four home runs in his last five games after hitting none in his first 146 collegiate contests. He hit two taters against Hofstra over the weekend, increasing his slugging percentage to a career-best .564, along with a .391 batting average.
