- Wednesday's game marks the second-straight season that Tribe and Seawolves meet in the second game of the CAA slate and also the second year in a row they will only meet once. The Tribe also plays back-to-back home games to open CAA play for the second time in the last three seasons.
- The Tribe picked up its 10th win on Monday. It marks just the eighth time in school history that W&M reached 10 wins in its first 13 games and the first since 2009-10. With a win on Wednesday, the Tribe would match the second-best start in school history through 14 games behind only the 1948-49 team (12-2).
- Thanks to its victory over defending regular season champion and preseason favorite Towson, W&M won its CAA opener for the third-straight year. The Tribe has started 2-0 in CAA play in five of the last eight seasons. In head coach
Brian Earl's first season, W&M won its first five CAA games.
- The Tribe has jumped 116 spots in the KenPom ratings, as of Dec. 30, to No. 115. The improvement is the fifth biggest in the country and the rating is W&M's best since 2016. The Tribe is also currently 71st in the NCAA NET Rankings, as of Dec. 29, which is the best in the CAA. W&M reached as high as No. 50 this season, which is the program's highest standing since the tool was introduced in 2018-19.
- W&M has shot a higher % than its opponents in 11 of its 13 games, including all 10 wins. The Tribe has connected at a 50% clip or better on six occasions. As of Dec. 30, the Green and Gold ranks 19th nationally in 2-point % (60.5), 28th in field goal % (50.0), and 36th in effective field goal % (57.4).

Kilian Brockhoff has scored in double figures in five of the last six games. During the stretch, he is averaging 14.5 points per game with a shooting 55.6% (30-of-54) from the field and 42.9% (12-of-28) from 3. On the year, he leads the Tribe in scoring at 11.4 points per game.
- Graduate student
Jo'el Emanuel led W&M with 12 points in the CAA-opening win over Towson. He has scored in double figures in each of the last five games, averaging 12.2 per game and hitting 24-of-27 (88.9%) at the free throw line. Emanuel is just 68 points shy of 1,000 for his career after he scored 823 in three seasons at FDU.

Chase Lowe reached a pair of career milestones recently with his 500th career rebound vs. ODU and his 250th assist at Duquesne. He ranks 20th in school history in assists (267) and is one away from 19th place (Nathan Knight '20), three shy of 18th (Terry Tarpey '16), and five short of 17th (Sherman Rivers '03). Lowe is one of just six players in school history with 500 rebounds and 250 assists, joining an elite list of John Lowenhaupt '78, David Schneider '10, Omar Prewitt '17, Tarpey, and Knight.
- The Tribe possesses a balanced attack offensively with seven players averaging at least nine points per game, including four in double figures. At least four players have scored in double digits in 10 of the Tribe's 13 games, including three games with six players. In total 12 of the Tribe's 13 players have that seen action in 2025 have scored in double figures at least one and eight different players have led the team in scoring.
- W&M is once again among the fastest-paced teams in the country. According to KenPom.com (as of Dec. 30), the Tribe leads the country in fastest average length of possession on offense (13.5 seconds) and ranks fifth in adjusted tempo (75.6). Last season, the Tribe ranked third in fastest average length of possession (14.9) and 18th in adjusted tempo (71.5). In each of the last five seasons,

- Bench scoring has been a staple for head coach
Brian Earl's teams. This season, the Tribe is averaging 33.9 points per game from its reserves, which ranks 40th in the country, as of Dec. 30. W&M's leading scorer has come off the bench in six of its 10 wins this season. Last year, the Tribe ranked eighth nationally in bench scoring (31.9) after Earl's final Cornell team led the country in 2023-24 (36.0).
- The Tribe has also been one of the best teams in the country in terms of sharing the basketball under Earl. W&M is averaging 19.6 assists per game this season, which leads the CAA and ranks 13th in the country. The Tribe is eighth nationally in assist rate, assisting on 66.1% of its made field goals. A season ago, W&M was 10th nationally in assist rate (62%) and 25th nationally at 16.5 assists per game.

Gabe Dorsey (Slovakia),
Caleb Dorsey (Slovakia), and
Matteus Case (Portugal) signed professional contracts in Europe. In total, 10 former Tribe standouts are playing professionally overseas, including Miguel Ayesa (Spain), David Cohn (Germany), Nathan Knight (South Korea), Anders Nelson (Romania), Terry Tarpey (France), Marcus Thornton (Romania), and Andy Van Vliet (Germany). Daniel Dixon '17, who won an NBA title as an assistant with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2025, was named the head coach of the Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder's NBA G-League affiliate, in August. Alums Chris Darnell '09 (Sacramento Kings) and Sean Sheldon '16 (Utah Jazz) are also currently NBA assistant coaches.
