CLEAR BAG POLICY AND METAL DETECTORS
Furthering its commitment to a first class and secure environment at home athletic events, William & Mary will implement the use of walk-through metal detectors at the entrances to athletic venues (both ticketed and non-ticketed events) beginning in the fall of 2025.  This enhanced security method mirrors standard practice at most major professional and intercollegiate athletic events throughout the country and compliments the Clear Bag Policy already in place. Fans will proceed through metal detectors prior to having their tickets scanned or entering a venue for non-tickets events. Entrants will not need to remove items such as belts, cell phones, coins, jackets, jewelry, watches, wallets, shoes or other small objects. If additional screening is necessary, security staff will ask the individual to proceed to a secondary screening area, where they will be asked to divest themselves of certain items and pass through again until clear.

PROMOTIONS
Friday's match will be Family and Alumni Weekend. On Saturday, W&M will host the annual Dig Pink Match to help fund research for metastatic breast cancer. Fans will receive free pink t-shirts while supplies last.

LAST TIME OUT
W&M split a pair of road matches at Stony Brook, winning 3-2 on Friday before falling in a closely-contested 3-0 contest on Saturday. Nicole Smith and Katherine Arnason led the Tribe with 13 kills a piece in the win, while Avery Horejsi tied a career-high with 29 digs.

It was W&M's first five-set match of the season as the Tribe came back to win the last two sets.

MOVIN' ON UP
Avery Horejsi continues to climb up the national leaderboard in digs, ranking 30th in Division I and second in the CAA in digs per set (4.65). The White Lake, Mich. native dug out 29 balls at Stony Brook, matching her career-best and tying for sixth-most in a CAA match this year.

Over her last five matches, Horejsi has averaged 5.6 digs per set. Her current season pace in digs would rank her second in program history in the current scoring era (since 2008).

THE KIDS HAVE ARRIVED
The Tribe saw significant contributions from its freshmen over the weekend. Olivia Westfort racked up 14 kills and 10.0 total blocks with a .417 hitting percentage, while Damisi Osibodu had 12 kills on a .524 hitting percentage, adding six blocks. In Friday's victory, Shylah Swope had 19 assists and nine digs.

STAT NUGGETS
  • The Tribe's 56 kills against Stony Brook on Friday was a season-high, along with the 53 assists.
  • The win also marked W&M's first time coming back from a 2-1 deficit match since Sep. 17, 2023 against Charleston.
  • W&M ranks 15th nationally in blocks per set (2.83). That average would stand as the program's highest mark since 1995.
  • The Tribe has posted three straight matches with 10.0 total blocks.
  • W&M is averaging 1.81 service aces per set, good for 47th in Division I.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Towson enters the series having won 14 in a row. Their 14-2 record is the best in the CAA, along with their unbeaten 6-0 mark in conference play.

Senior DS/L Sydney Stewart ranks fourth nationally with 5.45 digs per set. Senior MB Erin Brothers is among the conference leaders in hitting percentage at .380. As a team, the Tigers lead the nation in kills with 946.
